Birch Engineering (Cuffley) has supplied two scissor lift tables to furnishings retailer Healthbeds to help in the unloading and loading of vehicles at its Leicester store.
Each M3 005160D2 table provides a platform size of 3500 by 3200mm, a capacity of 500kg and includes a special loading flap fitted to one end of the platform. The package included an inspection hatch and double external lowering valves at the cylinders.

For many years, the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham has been using hydraulic loading dock tables to serve kitchen to restaurant requirements in Halls 1, 2, 3 and 4.
Installed in 1976, the units were in need of replacing. The contract was secured by Birch Engineering (Cuffley). It supplied two versions of the Marcolift tables. Both models included loading flaps designed to bridge the gap between lifting table and loading station.
All models supplied have a closed height of 300mm.
Lifting time ranges from 23 to 27sec and each table has a service hatch above the motor. Two of the tables have a platform length of 2000mm and two have a length of 3000mm.
Each table includes as standard a limit switch allowing easy setting of maximum lift, dampers for a smooth stop when lowering, safety trip bars, hose burst valve, motor protectors, emergency lowering valves, grease nipples and a flow control valve for easy adjustment of In what is a first for Mosca speed.
Birch Engineering has been regularly supplying Scissor lift tables to Sigma-Kalon to help combat repetitive strain injuries and back problems among operators and has supplied over 100 tables to date.
Each production line at SIgma-Kalon’s Birstall and Morley sites usually employ two lift tables mounted into shallow pits. Empty pallets are loaded with products onto the tables at the end of the conveyor line and lowered to be removed by fork lift truck eradicating any needs for the operator to twist or bend whilst loading product onto this pallet.
Birch’s tables typically offer a capacity of 2000kg and Birch claims that long-lasting efficiency, strength and safety are claimed by Birch to be a majot feature of their range.
